Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Railways (Northern Railways (Construction Organization)) issued Notification S.O. 5175(E) on 12th November, 2025, declaring the acquisition and absolute vesting of land in District-Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, for the "ROB at L-Xing No.-41C in connection with doubling of special project Jaunpur-Zafrabad Section (6.28Km.) of Lucknow Division on Northern Railway" Project. This declaration is made by the Central Government under sub-section (1) and (2) of section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989). This action follows a prior intention to acquire notification, S.O. 3358(E), dated 21st July, 2025, which was issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the said Act and published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary. The substance of the intention notification was published in local newspapers, including "Hindustan Times" (English), on 25th July, 2025, under sub-section (4) of section 20A. Two objections were received and subsequently resolved by the competent authority/Special Land Acquisition Officer. The competent authority submitted its report to the Central Government in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E. Upon publication of this current notification in the Official Gazette, the specified land, with or without structure, shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-13112025-267636 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 5006] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2025/KARTIKA 22, 1947 7581 GI/2025 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS [Northern Railways (Construction Organization)] NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 12th November, 2025 S.O. 5175(E). — Whereas as by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), number S.O. 3358(E), dated the 21 July, 2025 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 21 July, 2025 and issued under Sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (herein after referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management and operation of the Railway Project, namely, "ROB at L-Xing No.-41C in connection with doubling of special project Jaunpur-Zafrabad Section (6.28Km.) of Lucknow Division on Northern Railway" Project in District-Jaunpur in the State of Uttar Pradesh. Whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in the daily local newspapers, namely, "Amar Ujala" (Hindi) and "Hindustan Times" (English), dated the 25 July, 2025 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act, 2 objection have been received solved by competent authority/Special Land Acquistion officer. Whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government. Now, therefore, upon receipt of the report of the competent authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land specified in the schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose. Further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
