Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Mines issued Order S.O. 5166(E) on November 13, 2025, exercising powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 16 read with section 17 and sub-section (3) of section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016). The Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards and determining it to be in the public interest, hereby withdraws the Nickel (Quality Control) Order, 2023. For this purpose, it rescinds the Government of India, Ministry of Mines notification S.O. 3848(E), dated 31st August, 2023, which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated 31st August, 2023. This rescission does not affect actions taken or omitted before its effective date. The order was signed by Shakil Alam, Economic Advisor.

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-13112025-267628 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4997] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2025/KARTIKA 22, 1947 MINISTRY OF MINES ORDER New Delhi, the 13th November, 2025 S.O. 5166(E). — In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 16 read with section 17 and sub-section (3) of section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016), the Central Government is of the opinion that it is necessary so to do in the public interest and after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, hereby withdraws the Nickel (Quality Control) Order, 2023, and for the said purpose, rescinds the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Mines issued vide number S.O. 3848(E), dated the 31st August, 2023, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 31st August, 2023, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such rescission.
