Detailed Summary

The Ministry of Mines, through an Order S.O. 5173(E) dated 13th November, 2025, notified that the Central Government has exercised its powers under sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 16 read with section 17 and sub-section (3) of section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016). Deeming it necessary in the public interest and after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards, the Central Government hereby withdraws the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Order, 2023. Consequently, the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Mines, issued vide number S.O. 3846(E), dated 31st August, 2023, which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii) on the same date, is rescinded. This rescission is effective except for things done or omitted to be done before its implementation. The order was issued under File No. 02/18/2023-ES and signed by Shakil Alam, Economic Advisor.
