                Detailed Summary
            

            
This notification, S.O. 1878(E) dated 13th April, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Railways (Northern Railway (Construction Organization)), declares the acquisition of land for a "Special Railway Project." Previously, the Central Government, through notification S.O. 478(E) dated 02 February 2026, published in the Gazette of India (Extraordinary) dated 02 February 2026, Part II, section 3, Sub-section (ii), had declared its intention to acquire land under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989). This land is located in the Hoshiarpur District, Mukerian Tehsil, of Punjab state, and is for the "Daulatpur Chowk-Kartoli Punjab-Talwara section of Nangal Dam-Talwara-Mukerian New Broad Gauge Rail Line Project." The substance of the said notification was published in "The Tribune" (English) dated 13-02-2026 and "Ajit Punjab" (Punjabi) dated 13-02-2026, as required by Sub-section (4) of Section 20A of the Act. No objections were received under Section 20(D), and the competent authority considered/disposed of any that arose. Following the submission of the competent authority's report to the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 20(E), the Central Government now declares that the land specified in the annexed Schedule shall be acquired. | S.O. 1878(E).—                       | Whereas by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways No. S.O.478(E) dated 02 February 2026, published in the Gazette of India, (Extraordinary) dated 02 February 2026 Part II, section 3, Sub-section (ii), (hereinafter referred to as the said notification) under sub-section (1) of section 20 A of the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government, declared the intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed in the said notification for execution of "Special Railway Project" namely "Daulatpur Chowk-Kartoli Punjab-Talwara section of Nangal Dam-Talwara-Mukerian New Broad Gauge Rail Line Project" in the District of Hoshiarpur of Punjab state, |
