The Ministry of Home Affairs (Inter-State Council Secretariat) issued two notifications dated 8th November 2024. Notification G.S.R. 692(E), in supersession of earlier notification No. 1/7/2019-ISC dated 19th May 2022 and with the approval of the Prime Minister, notifies the composition of the Inter-State Council, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, comprising Chief Ministers of all States, Chief Ministers or Administrators of Union territories, Governors of States under President's Rule (Article 356 of the Constitution), and named Union Ministers including Shri Raj Nath Singh, Shri Amit Shah, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Shri Manohar Lal, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Dr. Virendra Kumar, and Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, plus permanent invitee Union Ministers including Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and Shri Piyush Goyal among others. A companion Notification GSR 693(E), also in supersession of notification No. 1/7/2019-ISC, notifies the composition of the Standing Committee of the Inter-State Council, chaired by Shri Amit Shah, with members including Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Dr. Virendra Kumar, Shri C.R. Patil, and the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh; the Standing Committee's functions include continuous consultation on Council matters, processing Centre-State Relations issues before Council consideration, monitoring implementation of Council recommendations, and considering matters referred by the Chairman or Council.
