Short title and Commencement.- (1) This Order may be called the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Eighth Amendment) Order, 2024. (2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. The following paragraph at Chapter II, Clause 3 (4) of PQ Order, 2003 shall be omitted. "Import of consignments of seeds of coarse cereals, pulses, oil seeds and fodder seeds and seeds/stock material of fruit plant species for propagation shall only be permitted based on the recommendations of EXIM Committee of Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC&FW) except the trial material of the same as specified in Schedule-XII of Plant Quarantine Order" 3. The words "Import subject to prior approval of Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare in the Ministry of Agriculture" shall be omitted under the following entries in Schedule V & VI : • Point no.
