NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 7th October, 2025
G.S.R. 736(E). In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution, the
President hereby makes the following rules to amend the Indian Railways Prosecution Cadre (Group A and B Gazetted
posts) Recruitment Rules, 2022, namely:-
1. (1) These rules may be called the Indian Railways Prosecution Cadre (Group A and B Gazetted posts) Amendment
Rules, 2025.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Indian Railways Prosecution Cadre (Group A and B Gazetted posts) Recruitment Rules, 2022, in the
Schedule, against serial number 1, relating to the post of Assistant Legal Officer (Prosecution), in column (11), under
the sub-heading 'By Promotion',-
(a) for the words "six years", the words "eight years" shall be substituted;
(b) the existing "Note" shall be numbered as "Note 1” thereof and after Note 1 as so numbered, the
following Note shall be inserted, namely:-
"Note 2: The eligibility service for promotion shall continue to be six years for persons holding post on regular basis
on the date of notification of these rules.".
