Exercising powers under clauses (e), (g), (h) and (j) of sub-section (2) of Section 45 read with Section 21 of the Architects Act, 1972 (20 of 1972), the Council of Architecture, with the approval of the Central Government, issued the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) (Amendment) Regulations, 2024 (F. No. CA/498/2024/MSAE(Regulations)), dated New Delhi, 6th July 2024, to further amend the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020 (originally published in the Gazette of India, Part III, Section 4, dated 11th August 2020, and previously amended on 23.03.2021, 30.06.2022 and 19.07.2023); the amendment substitutes sub-regulation (1) of Regulation 4 to provide that no candidate shall be admitted to an architecture course unless they have passed the 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either Chemistry, Biology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics or Business Studies, securing at least 45% aggregate marks, or have passed a 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject securing at least 45% aggregate marks; the Regulations take effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette and were signed by Raj Kumar Oberoi, Registrar (Advt.-III/4/Exty./265/2024-25).

No. CA/498/2024/MSAE(Regulations).—In exercise of powers conferred by clauses (e), (g), (h) and (j) of sub-section (2) of Section 45 read with Section 21 of the Architects Act, 1972 (20 of 1972), the Council of Architecture, with the approval of the Central Government, hereby makes the following Regulations to further amend the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations 2020, the same having been published in the Gazette of India, Part-III-Section-4 dated the 11th August, 2020, namely: - 1. (1) These Regulations may be called the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) (Amendment) Regulations, 2024. (2) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the official Gazette. 2. In the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations, 2020, in Regulation 4 for sub-regulation (1) the following sub-regulation shall be substituted, namely:- "(1) No candidate shall be admitted to architecture course unless she/he has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either Chemistry or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies with at least 45% marks in aggregate or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate."
