NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 7th June, 2024
S.O. 2219(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition
and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957), the Central Government hereby directs that all the powers and duties that
may be exercised or discharged by the said Government under the provisions of the said Act as specified in column
(2) of the Schedule annexed hereto shall be exercised and discharged by the person specified against in the
corresponding entry in column (4) of the said Schedule:
Provided that the exercise and discharge of powers and duties under subsection (1) of the section 14 of the
said Act shall be subject to the previous approval of the Central Government, whereas the exercise and discharge of
powers and duties under section 21 of the said Act by the officers as specified in the said Schedule shall be in such
circumstances and under such conditions, if any, as may be specified and directed by an order, in writing, by the Chief
General Manager of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited having Registered Office and Corporate
Office at Khanij Bhavan, 132 ft. Ring Road, University Ground, Vastrapur, Ahmedabad- 380052, Gujarat and the
Regional Corporate Office at 5th Floor, Fortune Tower, Chandrashekharpur Bhubaneswar, Khurda, Odisha, 751023,
with the previous approval of the Central Government.
