Fixed signals are permissible with approval from designated authorities to ensure safe train operations for: * Interlocking level crossings outside station limits. * Double distant signaling at stations without yard remodeling. * Intermediate block signaling (excluding slip/catch siding sections) without yard remodeling. * Automatic block signaling (excluding slip/catch siding sections) without yard remodeling. Approving authorities are defined as Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer for level crossing interlockings and the General Manager of the concerned railway for other signaling types.
