The Ministry of Rural Development, exercising powers under sub-section (1) of section 29 of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (42 of 2005), issued Notification S.O. 3622(E) on August 6, 2025, to implement further amendments. Specifically, in Schedule I of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005, within paragraph 4, sub-paragraph (1), item I, sub-item (v), the words ", forest fire management works" are to be inserted immediately after the phrase "Paragraph 5". The notification was signed by ROHINI RAMDAS BHAJIBHAKARE, Jt. Secy. It also mentions that Schedule I of the said Act was first amended via S.O. 323(E) dated March 6, 2007, and most recently via S.O. 3126 (E) dated July 7, 2022.
