Notification with regard to extension of tenure of SEIAA and SEAC Uttar Pradesh

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-06062024-254589 No. 2108] EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, JUNE 6, 2024/JYAISHTHA 16, 1946 MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 6th June, 2024 S.O. 2210(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 (29 of 1986) and in pursuance of the proviso to sub- paragraph (6) of paragraph 3 and sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph 5 of the notification of the Government of India in the erstwhile Ministry of Environment and Forests, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), vide, number S.O 1533(E), dated the 14th September, 2006, the Central Government being considered necessary and expedient, hereby extends the term of the Chairman and Members of the State Level Environmental Impact Assessment Authority, Uttar Pradesh and the term of the Chairman and Members of State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, Uttar Pradesh for a period up to 10th December, 2024 or till the re- constitution of the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority and the State Level Expert Appraisal Committee, as the case may be, whichever is earlier, and for that purpose makes further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change number S.O. 2276 (E), dated the 11th June, 2021, namely:- (a) in paragraph 2, for the words "three years”, the words “three years and six months" shall be substituted; (b) in paragraph 6, for the words "three years", the words "three years and six months" shall be substituted.
