NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 5th December, 2025
S.O. 5647(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 87 of the Punjab
Reorganization Act, 1966 (31 of 1966), the Central Government hereby extends to the Union
territory of Chandigarh, the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Act,
2025 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2025), as in force in the State of Punjab on the date of publication
of this notification, subject to the following modifications, namely:-
In the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2025 so extended to
the Union territory of Chandigarh,
(i) for the words "State Government" wherever they occur, the words "Union territory of
Chandigarh" shall be substituted;
(ii) after the words, brackets and figures "the Punjab Shops and Commercial
Establishments (Amendment) Act, 2025" wherever they occur, the words "as extended
to the Union territory of Chandigarh" shall be inserted.
