No. HQ-13079/10/2024-AUTH-II(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 54 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016), the Unique Identification Authority of India hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the Aadhaar (Authentication and Offline Verification) Regulations, 2021, namely:— 1. Short title and commencement. — (1) These regulations may be called the Aadhaar (Authentication and Offline Verification) Second Amendment Regulations, 2024. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Aadhaar (Authentication and Offline Verification) Regulations, 2021,— (a) in regulation 2, in sub-regulation (1), in clause (o), for the words "Requesting entity", the words "requesting entity" shall be substituted; (b) in regulation 12,- (i) in the short title, for the words "Requesting Entities and Authentication Service Agencies", the words "requesting entity and Authentication Service Agency" shall be substituted; and (ii) in sub-regulation (6), for the words "the Authority may:", the following words shall be substituted, namely:- "the Authority may, if it is satisfied that the general character of management and the financial condition of the applicant are sound for securing the interests of privacy and security of information of the general public, "; (c) in regulation 22, in sub-regulation (4), for the words “Requesting Entities, Authentication Service Agencies and Offline Verification Seeking Entities", the words "Every requesting entity, Authentication Service Agency and Offline Verification Seeking Entity" shall be substituted; and (d) in regulation 23, in sub-regulation (1), for the words “Requesting Entity", the words "requesting entity” shall be substituted.
