In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution, the President hereby makes the following rules to amend the Ministry of Mines, Indian Bureau of Mines, Group 'A' and 'B' posts (Chief Mining Geologist, Superintending Mining Geologist, Regional Mining Geologist, Senior Mining Geologist, Junior Mining Geologist and Assistant Mining Geologist) Recruitment Rules, 2019, namely: -- 1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Ministry of Mines, Indian Bureau of Mines, Group 'A' and 'B' posts (Chief Mining Geologist, Superintending Mining Geologist, Regional Mining Geologist, Senior Mining Geologist, Junior Mining Geologist and Assistant Mining Geologist) Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2023. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Ministry of Mines, Indian Bureau of Mines, Group 'A' and 'B' posts (Chief Mining Geologist, Superintending Mining Geologist, Regional Mining Geologist, Senior Mining Geologist, Junior Mining Geologist and Assistant Mining Geologist) Recruitment Rules, 2019, in the Schedule, against serial number 5 relating to the post of Junior Mining Geologist, (a) in column (6), for the figures and word "35 years", the words and figures "Not exceeding 35 years" shall be substituted; (b) in column (9), for the entry, the following shall be substituted, namely: - "Two years (for promotees and direct recruits). Note : Direct recruits shall be required to successfully complete a mandatory induction training of at least two weeks duration, as prescribed by the competent authority, for completion of probation."; (c) in column (11), - (i) under the sub-heading “Promotion", for the words “three years”, the words “five years” shall be substituted; (ii) after sub-heading “Promotion" and the entries relating thereto and before Note, the following Note shall be inserted, namely: - "Note 1: The eligibility service shall continue to be three years in respect of incumbents holding the feeder post of Assistant Mining Geologist in level 7 in the pay matrix (Rs. 44900-142400) on regular basis on the date of notification of the Ministry of Mines, Indian Bureau of Mines, Group 'A' and 'B' posts (Chief Mining Geologist, Superintending Mining Geologist, Regional Mining Geologist, Senior Mining Geologist, Junior Mining Geologist and Assistant Mining Geologist) Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2023."; (iii) the "Note" shall be numbered as "Note 2"; (iv) under the sub-heading “Deputation (including short term contract)”, in clause (a), in sub-clause (ii), after the words "in the pay matrix or", the words "four years in” shall be substituted; (v) after the sub-heading "Deputation (including short term contract)" and the entries relating thereto, in Note 2, for the words "Period of deputation", the words "The period of deputation including the period of deputation" shall be substituted.
