NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 2nd December, 2025
S.O. 5560(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (b) and (e) of sub-section (3) and sub-section
(5) of section 5 read with sub-section (1) of section 6 of the Press Council Act, 1978 (37 of 1978), the Central
Government hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of
Information and Broadcasting, number S.O. 5509(E), dated 19th December, 2024, published in the Gazette of India, Part
II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated the 20th December, 2024 and notifies the names of the following members nominated
to the Press Council of India, from the date of publication of this notification, namely:—
2. In the said notification,—
(a) before the heading relating to Persons having special knowledge or practical experience in respect
of education and science, law and literature and culture [nominated under clause (d) of sub-section (3) of section
5, and the entries relating thereto, the following heading and entries thereto shall be inserted, namely:-
"Members from among persons who own/carry on the business of management of newspapers"
[nominated under clause (b) of sub-section (3) of section 5]
