Short title and Commencement. - (1) This Order may be called the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (Fourteenth Amendment) Order, 2023. (2) It shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. 2. Amendment of Schedule VI. - In the Schedule VI to the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003 - in serial number 497, against the entries relating to Persea Americana (Avocado) in column (2) and against the entries relating to Fresh fruits for consumption in column (3) the following entries relating thereto in colu mns (4), (5) and (6), shall be inserted, namely: - Country of Origin Additional declarations required to be incorporated into Phytosanitary Certificate Special conditions of import (4) (5) (6) (v) Australia Free from: i. Avocado sunblotch viroid (Avocado sun blotch) ii. Bactrocera aquilonis (Northern Territory fruit fly) iii. Bactrocera jarvisi (Jarvis' fruit fly) iv. Bactrocera tryoni (Queensland fruit fly) v. Ceratitis capitata (Mediterranean fruit fly) vi. Ceroplastes destructor (White wax scale) vii. Diaporthe perseae (syn. Phomopsis perseae) (Branch canker, avocado stem -end rot complex) viii. Dothiorella aromatic (Branch canker, avocado stem -end rot complex) ix. Phytophthora cryptogea (Tomato foot rot) x. Thaumatotibia zophophanes (Avocado fruit borer) i. Export consignment must comply wit h a systems approach for production, processing, and export of avocado fresh fruit (or) ii. Pest free area status for fruit flies as per ISPM Standards (or) iii. In-transit cold treatment at 0oC or below for 10 days; 0.55oC or below for 11 days; 1.1o C or below for 12 days against fruit fly(or) Pre-shipment treatment options as follows, Cold treatment at 0oC or below for 10 days; 0.55oC or below for 11 days; 1.1o C or below for 12 days against fruit fly (or) iv. Methyl bromide fumigation @ 32 g/m3 for 3 ½ hrs at 2 1oC or above at NAP or equivalent thereof against fruit flies.
