By notification S.O. 998(E) dated 1st March 2024, the Ministry of Coal, exercising powers under sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957), gives notice of the Central Government's intention to prospect for coal on approximately 720 hectares (1779.12 acres) of land described in the Schedule, covering the villages of Wirur, Sonurli, Gadegaon, Khairgaon, Kavithgaon, Hirapur, Sangoda and Karwai in Korpana Tahsil, District Chandrapur, Maharashtra, under the plan bearing number C-I(E)/III/JJR/0224/1007 dated 7th February 2024, available for inspection at the offices of Western Coalfields Limited (Revenue Department, Nagpur), the Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (Ranchi), the Coal Controller (Delhi), and the District Collector, Chandrapur; interested persons may claim compensation under section 6 for damage caused by prospecting actions under sub-section (3) of section 4, or under sub-section (1) or (4) of section 13 for cessation of prospecting licence or mining lease, to be submitted to the Area General Manager or General Manager (Land and Revenue) of Western Coalfields Limited within ninety days of publication; the notification is signed by Bhabani Prasad Pati, Joint Secretary, under F. L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-02032024-252572 EXTRAORDINARY PART II—Section 3—Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 953] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 2024/PHALGUNA 11, 1945 MINISTRY OF COAL NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 1st March, 2024 S.O. 998(E).—Whereas, it appears to the Central Government that coal is likely to be obtained from the land in the locality described in the Schedule annexed hereto; And whereas the plan bearing number C-I(E)/III/JJR/0224/1007, dated the 7th February, 2024, containing details of the area of land described in the said Schedule may be inspected at the office of the Western Coalfields Limited (Revenue Department), Coal Estate, Civil Lines, Nagpur- 440 001 (Maharashtra) or at the office of the Chief General Manager (Exploration Division), Central Mine Planning and Design Institute, Gondwana Palace, Kanke Road, Ranchi - 834 001, Jharkhand or at the office of the Coal Controller, Scope Minar, 5th floor, Core-2, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi-110092 or at the office of the District Collector, District Chandrapur (Maharashtra); Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Coal Bearing Areas (Acquisition and Development) Act, 1957 (20 of 1957), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government hereby gives notice of its intention to prospect for coal from land described in the said Schedule; Any persons interested in the land described in the said Schedule may - (i) claim compensation under section 6 of the said Act for any damage caused or likely to be caused by any action taken under sub-section (3) of section 4 thereof; or (ii) claim compensation under sub-section (1) of section 13 of the said Act in respect of prospecting license ceasing to have effect or under sub-section (4) of section 13 of the said Act for mining lease ceasing to have effect and deliver all maps, charts and other documents relating to the aforesaid land to show the expenditure incurred in respect of items specified in clauses (i) to (iv) of sub-section (1) of section 13 of the said Act, to the Office of the Area General Manager, Western Coalfields Limited, Wani Area, Post Tadali, District Chandrapur (Maharashtra), or General Manager (Land and Revenue), Western Coalfields Limited, Land and Revenue Department, Coal Estate, Civil Lines, Nagpur – 440 001 (Maharashtra) within a period of ninety days from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette.
