NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 29th January, 2026
S.O. 479(E).- The Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 20A (1) of the
Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), as amended by the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008, hereby declares its intention to
acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed hereto for the public purpose, namely for the execution, maintenance,
management, and operation of the special railway project, “Chord Line Connecting MFJ (NER)-JNU-MGWN
Bypassing JNU (Jaunpur Jn.) 1.5 Km" in the village Purshottampur urf pandeypur & shdaudpur urf kakorgahna of
district Jaunpur in the state of UP.
Any person interested in the said land may, within 30 days from the date of publication of this notification,
object to the acquisition of the land for the purposes mentioned above, as provided under sub-section (1) of Section 20A
of the Railways Act, 1989.
Every objection shall be made to the competent authority, namely the Special Land Acquisition Officer,
varanasi. District varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, in writing, and shall state the grounds of objection and the interest of the
objector in the land. The competent authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or
by a legal practitioner, and May, after hearing all such objections and after making such further inquiry, if any, as it
thinks necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections.
Any order made by the competent authority under sub-section (1) of Section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989
shall be final.
The land plans and other details of the land covered under this notification are available in the office of the
competent authority for inspection by the interested persons.
SCHEDULE
A brief description of the land in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh state required for the special railway project,
"Chord Line Connecting MFJ (NER)-JNU-MGWN Bypassing JNU (Jaunpur Jn.) 1.5 Km"including or
excluding structures:
This is additional area for those khasras whose land acquisition has been done previously.
