The Ministry of External Affairs, vide S.O. 418(E) dated 27th December 2023 (published 2nd February 2024), notified under Section 3 of the United Nations (Privileges and Immunities) Act, 1947 (46 of 1947) that the privileges and immunities specified in Sections 7(b), 8 and 18 of the Schedule to that Act, previously extended to the Regional Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in India vide Notification No. D-II/451/16(2)/85 dated 16th June 1986, shall continue to apply mutatis mutandis to the ICRC Regional Office and its officers for a further period of two years from 1st January 2024, pursuant to an exchange of letters between the Government of India and the ICRC; the notification (F.No. D-II/451/16(3)/2010) is signed by Anshuman Gaur, Joint Secretary, and states it shall remain in force for two years from 1st January 2024.

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-02022024-251730 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 394] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2024/MAGHA 13, 1945 2 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA: EXTRAORDINARY MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 27th December, 2023 [PART II-SEC. 3(ii)] S.O. 418(E).—Whereas in pursuance of the exchange of letters between the Government of India and the International Committee of the Red Cross, India, it is decided to accord the Regional Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross, privileges and immunities in India similar to those contained in Section 7(b), 8 and 18 of the Schedule to the United Nations (Privileges and Immunities), Act 1947 (46 of 1947) for a further period of two years from 1st January, 2024. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the aforementioned Act, the Central Government hereby notifies that the privileges and immunities extended to the Regional Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in India vide its Notification No. D-II/451/16(2)/85 dated the 16th June, 1986 shall apply, mutatis mutandis to the Regional Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in India and to its officers for a period of 2 years from 01st January, 2024.
