NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the19th January, 2024
S.O. 417(E).—Whereas the Government of India signed the Host Country Agreement for establishing the
WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (hereinafter referred to as the Centre) in Jamnagar, Gujarat on the 25th
March, 2022;
And whereas Articles V,VI,VIII,X and XII of the said Agreement provide for privileges and immunities of
the Centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat, its representatives and officials;
And whereas the Central Government considers it expedient to extend the necessary privileges and
immunities provided under the United Nations (Privileges and Immunities) Act, 1947 (46 of 1947) to the Centre in
Jamnagar, Gujarat, its representatives and officials;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the United Nations (Privileges and
Immunities) Act, 1947 (46 of 1947), the Central Government hereby declares that the provisions of section 1 of
Article I, sections 2,3,4,5,6,7 and section 8 of Article II, section 9 of Article III and clauses (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) of
section 18 and section 20 of Article V and clauses (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) of section 22 and section 23 of Article
VI of the Schedule to the said Act shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to the WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine
in Jamnagar, Gujarat, its representatives and officials.
