Previously, the Disciplinary Committee, acting under Section 21B(3) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, read with Rule 18(17) of the Chartered Accountants (Procedure of Investigations of Professional and Other Misconduct and Conduct of Cases) Rules, 2007, found CA. Soni guilty of Professional Misconduct under Clause (7) of Part I of Second Schedule to the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949. Consequently, his name was removed from the Register of Members for a period of 03 years, effective from 24th March, 2023, pursuant to Section 20(2) of the Act and Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988. Aggrieved, CA. Soni filed an appeal under Section 22G of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949. The Appellate Authority, in appeal number 28/ICAI/2021, issued an Order dated 6th September, 2025 (received 18th September, 2025), modifying the punishment to the period already undergone and ordering restoration of his name from the date of order receipt. Accordingly, the notification dated 24th March, 2023, which removed CA. Janakkumar Shantilal Soni's name for three years, is now modified to reflect that his name stands removed only until 18th September, 2025.

Janakkumar Shantilal Soni(Membership No. 110003) from the Register of Members for a period of 03(Three) years. In pursuance thereof and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the name of said CA. Janakkumar Shantilal Soni(Membership No. 110003) was removed from the Register of Members for a period of 03(Three) years with effect from 24th March, 2023. Aggrieved by the Order of the Committee, the Respondent preferred Appeal in terms of Section 22G of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and the Appellate Authority in appeal number 28/ICAI/2021 vide its Order dated 6th September, 2025 (received vide email dated 18th September, 2025) had modified the quantum of punishment to the period already undergone by the Appellant and also ordered for restoration of name of the Appellant in the Register of Members from the date of receipt of the Order. Accordingly, in pursuance of the said Order of the Appellate Authority, the notification dated 24th March, 2023 wherein the name of CA. Janakkumar Shantilal Soni(Membership No. 110003) was removed for a period of 03(Three) years is hereby modified to the extent that his name stands removed till 18th September, 2025 only.
