L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-01032025-261386 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 986] NEW DELHI, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2025/PHALGUNA 8, 1946 MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (RAILWAY BOARD) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 21st February, 2025 S.O. 994(E).-WHEREAS by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), vide number S.O.4380 (E), dated the 4th October, 2024, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (ii), dated 9th October, 2024, (hereinafter referred to as the said notification) and issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution of Special Railway Project, namely, Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor in the District of Chandauli in the State of Uttar Pradesh; AND WHEREAS, the substance of the said notification was published in daily newspapers namely "Danik Jagran" and "Hindustan", dated 23rd October, 2024, under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act; AND WHEREAS, no objections were received from the public in respect of the said notification within the specified period; AND WHEREAS, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government; NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1), and in pursuance of sub-section (2), of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government, - (i) upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority, hereby declares that the lands specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose; and (ii) hereby declares that on publication of this notification, the lands specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall vest absolutely upon it free from all encumbrances.
