The Ministry of Railways (South East Central Railway) issued Notification S.O. 1195(E) on 25th February, 2026, published in the Gazette of India on Saturday, March 7, 2026. In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 89), the Central Government declares its intention to acquire land for the public purpose of executing the Special Railway project, namely, Sardega – Bhalumuda New Double Line (37.24 KM) of South East Central Railway in the state of Chhattisgarh. Any person interested in the land, a brief description of which is annexed in the schedule, may raise objections within 30 days from the date of publication of this notification. Objections must be made in writing to the Competent Authority, identified as the Upper Collector (Land Acquisition), Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, stating the grounds thereof. The Competent Authority shall provide an opportunity for a hearing, either in person or through a legal practitioner, and may, after inquiry, allow or disallow the objections by order, which shall be final under sub-section (2) of section 20D of the said Act. Land plans and other details are available for inspection at the Competent Authority's office. The total land to be acquired amounts to 135.3481 Hectares across 12 villages in Raigarh District, Tamnar Tahsil, Chhattisgarh. NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 25th February, 2026
Notice under Section 20 A of the Railways Act 1989
S.O. 1195(E). In exercise of Powers conferred by sub section (1) of section 20A of the Railways Act 1989
(24 of 89) (hereinafter referred as the said act), the Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public
purpose, the land, brief description of which is given in the schedule annexed hereto is required for execution of
Special Railway project, namely Sardega – Bhalumuda New Double Line (37.24 KM) of South East Central
Railway in the state of Chhattisgarh, hereby declares its intention to acquire such land; Any person interested in the
said land may, within a period of 30 days for the date of publication of this notification in the official gazette, raise
objection to the acquisition of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section (1) of section 20D of the said act;
Every objection shall be made to the competent Authority, namely, Upper Collector (Land Acquisition),
Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, in writing, and shall set out ground thereof and the Competent Authority shall give the
objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or through a legal practitioner, and may, after hearing all such
objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the Competent Authority thinks necessary, by order,
either allow or disallow the objections; Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of section
20D of the said Act shall be final; The land plans and other details of the land covered under this notification are
available and can be inspected by the interested person at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.
