                Detailed Summary
            

            
The Ministry of Railways (Northeast Frontier Railway), through S.O. 4201(E) dated 28th July, 2026, declares the acquisition of land for the public purpose of the Special Railway Project, "Construction of 4 Lane Road Over Bridge at Level Crossing No. NN-1 (Manned) at Km-2/2-3 between NJP-ABFC" in the district of Jalpaiguri, State of West Bengal. This declaration is made by the Central Government under sub-section (1) of Section 20E of the Railways Act, 2008, following the submission of a report by the Competent Authority. This current notification follows a previous declaration of intention to acquire the land, made by notification S.O. 4768(E), dated 21st October, 2025, issued under sub-section (1) of Section 20A of the Railways Act, 2008, and published on 10th June, 2025. In pursuance of sub-section (2) of Section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government further declares that upon publication, the specified land will vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances. The acquired land comprises 6.4463 acres from DABGRAM SHEET NO:210, BLOCK-RAJGUJ, and 2.3468 acres from DABGRAM SHEET NO:211, BLOCK-RAJGUJ, totaling 8.7931 acres, detailed in the annexed schedule with plot numbers, classifications, areas, and names of R.O.R. holders.

NOTIFICATION
Maligaon, the 28th July, 2026

S.O. 4201(E).— The Central Government, by the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of
Railways (N.F. Railway, Number S.O. 4768(E), dated 21st October, 2025, issued under sub-section (1) of Section
20A of the Railways Act, 2008 and published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section 3, Sub-section
(ii), dated 10th June, 2025, had declared its intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the
said notification for the public purpose of execution, maintenance, management and operation of the Special
Railway Project namely, "Construction of 4 Lane Road Over Bridge at Level Crossing No. NN-1 (Manned) at
Km-2/2-3 between NJP-ABFC" in the district of Jalpaiguri in the State of West Bengal.

And whereas, the Competent Authority, under sub-section (1) of Section 20E of the said Act, has submitted
its report to the Central Government.

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the Schedule annexed to this notification shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose.

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of Section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that, for the purposes of the provisions of this Act, the land specified in the Schedule annexed to this
notification shall, upon publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, vest absolutely in the Central
Government free from all encumbrances.

railway project namely Construction of 4 lane Road Over Bridge At level Crossing No. NN-1(Manned) at
