NOTIFICATION
Delhi, the 20th August, 2025
F. No. 8(03)/Forest/HQ/Plg./2019/Part-2/7085.— WHEREAS, in compliance with the directions contained
in order, dated 05.10.2015 of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition (Civil) No.202 of 1995, in the
matter of T.N. Godavarman Thirumulpad Versus Union of India and others, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and
Climate Change, Government of India has formulated the Wood-Based Industries (Establishment and Regulation)
Guidelines, 2016 and the same were published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, dated 11.11.2016;
AND WHEREAS, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India has
amended the said guidelines and the same were published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, dated 11.09.2017 &
22.02.2019;
AND WHEREAS, the Wood-Based Industries (Establishment and Regulation) Guidelines, 2016 requires the
States to bring their existing rules in conformity to these guidelines as amended from time to time;
Now, therefore, the Wood-Based Industries (Establishment and Regulation) Guidelines, 2016 dated
11.11.2016 issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India along with the
amendments dated 11.09.2017 and 22.02.2019 are hereby adopted by the Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi.
