The Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi issued Notification F. No. DH&FW/107/2026-COUN-HFW/169210 on July 23, 2026, with the aim of facilitating mobility and ensuring ease of registration for qualified pharmacists. Exercising powers conferred by section 46 read with section 32 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 (8 of 1948), the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi declared that any person registered as a pharmacist with any State Pharmacy Council established under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, and who resides or carries on the business or profession of pharmacy in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, shall be eligible to have their name entered in the Register of Pharmacists maintained by the Delhi Pharmacy Council, in accordance with the provisions of section 32 of the said Act. Furthermore, the notification stipulates that, notwithstanding any other rule or practice, no applicant seeking registration under section 32 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948, shall be required to furnish any document, certificate, or No Objection Certificate other than those explicitly required under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 itself. No. DH&FW/107/2026-COUN-HFW/169210.— Whereas, it is considered necessary to facilitate mobility of qualified pharmacists and to ensure ease of registration for pharmacists already registered with other State Pharmacy Councils in India; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 read with section 32 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948(8 of 1948), the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby provides that any person who is registered as a pharmacist with any State Pharmacy Council established under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 and who resides or carries on the business or profession of pharmacy in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, shall be eligible to have their name entered in the Register of Pharmacists maintained by the Delhi Pharmacy Council in accordance with the provisions of section 32 of the said Act.
