Detailed Summary

The Urban Development Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, issued a notification on July 15, 2026, publishing the Delhi Jal Board 'Doctor (GDO) Grade-II' Recruitment Regulations, 2025. These regulations, made by the Delhi Water Board under powers conferred by clause (m) sub-section (2) of section 109 read with sections 7 and 51 of the Delhi Water Board Act, 1998 (Delhi Act. No. 4 of 1998), supersede Notification No. 16 (4) /UD/W/ 2012/398 dated 27.06.2013, with prior consultation of the Union Public Service Commission. The regulations specify the method of recruitment for 17 posts (as of 2025, subject to workload variation) of 'Doctor (GDO) Grade-II', classified as Category 'A' with a Level 10 pay matrix (Rs. 56100 - 177500). Direct recruits must not exceed 35 years of age (relaxable for government/DJB employees up to 5 years) and require a recognized medical qualification included in the First, Second, or Part II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, along with completion of compulsory rotating internship. A probation period of 1 year applies, and recruitment is primarily by direct method, though deputation is possible for vacancies lasting one year or more. Disqualifications include marriage with a person having a living spouse, subject to potential exemption by the Delhi Water Board. The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, in consultation with the Union Public Service Commission, retains the power to relax provisions, and the regulations do not affect reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Class, and other special categories. A Category 'A' Departmental Conformation Committee, comprising the CEO, DJB (Chairman), Member (Administration), and Director (A&P), is specified for conformation.
