Governor of the National Cap ital Territory of Delhi, is pleased to make the following Rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of ‘Staff Car Driver, Ordinary Grade, Grade -II and Grade -I in Weights & Measures Department, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, in supersession of earlier notifications issued vide No. F.20(30)/96/MWM/ 258, F.20(30)/96/MWM/259 &F.20(30)/96/MWM/260 dated 18.01.2002, namely: — 1. Short title and commencement : — (i) These rules may be called th e Weights & Measures Department, Staff C ar Driver, Ordinary Grade, Grade - II and Grade -I, Recruitment Rules, 2023. (ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette. 2. Number of Posts, their Classification and level in the pay matrix : - The number of the s aid posts, their classification and Level in the pay matrix attached there to shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed to these rules. 3. Method of recruitment, age limit, Qualifications, e tc:—The method of recruitment, age limit , qualifications and other matters relating to the said posts, shall be as specified in the columns (5) to (13) of the said Schedule. 4. Disqualification : - No persons, - (a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse livin g; or (b) who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a ma rriage with any person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post: Provided that the Governmen t may, if satisfied, that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and that the re are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule. 5. Power to relax : Where the government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient to do so, it may, by order, for reasons to be recorded in writing, and in con sultant with the Competent Authority, relax any of the provisions of these Rules with respect to any cla ss or category of persons. 6. Saving : Nothing in these Rules shall affect rese rvations, relaxation of age limit and other concessions required to be provided for Scheduled Caste, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Ex -Servicemen and other special categories of persons in accordance with orders issued by Government of India from time to time, in this regard.
