NOTIFICATION

read with sub-section (1) of Section 21 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (Act
No. 35 of 2009), the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby makes the following rules
to amend the Delhi Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011, published vide notification no.
DE.23(462)/Sch./Br./10/17-33, dated 23.11.2011, in the Delhi Gazette, namely:
1. Short Title and Commencement:-
(1) These rules shall be called the Delhi Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Rules,
2025.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette.
2. Amendment: In the Delhi Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2011, in Rule 3, in place of
sub-rule (2), the following shall be substituted:
"(2). Seventy-five percent of the total strength of the School Management Committee shall comprise parents or
guardians of children enrolled in the school. In schools where one or more Children with specific disabilities, as
defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, are enrolled, at least one parent or guardian of such a
child shall be included as a member, selected from among such parents or guardians."
