Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, is pleased to make rules for the post of Matron in the Delhi Prisons Department, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, as following namely: - 1. Short tit le and commence ment–(1) These rules may be called the Delhi Prisons Matron Recruitment Rules, 2024. (2) They shall come into force with effect from the date of their publication in the Delhi Gazette. 2. Number of posts, classification and level of pay -The nu mber of the sa id post, its classification and the pay level in the pay matrix attached thereto, shall be as specified in column (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed to these rules. 3. Method of Recruitment, age-limit, qualification etc., -The method of recruit ment to the sai d posts, age - limit, qualifications and other matters connected therewith, shall be as specified in column (5) to (13) of the said Schedule. 4. Disqualifications -No Person :- (a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living ; or (b) who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person, shall be eligible for appointment to the said post: Provided that the Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicabl e to such person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doing, exempt any person from the operation of this rule. 5. Power to Relax: -Where the Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do, it ma y, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing and may relax any of the provisions of these rules with respect to any class or category of persons. 6. Saving: -Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and o ther concessi ons required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Ex -Servicemen, Other Backward Classes and other special categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Government from time to time in this regard. I. Educational Qualifications: - Essential: - 10+2 (Senior Secondary) pass from a recognized board/institute. II. Standard of Physical Measu rement: - Heig ht: 157 cms. (relaxable by 5 cms for candidates belonging to Gorkhas/Garhwali/Dogras and Scheduled Tribe candidates). Note: No relaxation permissible for Physical standard. III. Medical Standard: - (a) Vision 6/6 without glass both eyes, free from colour blindness. (b) The candidates must not have bow -legged, knock -knees, flat -feet varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision. (c) They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect which is likely to interfere with t he efficient performance of the duties. IV. (A) Physical Endurance Test (PET): - a. 800 Mts Race in 04 Minutes. Note : Those who qualify in the race shall be further eligible to appear in the following tests: b. Long Jump: - Age wise (qualifying in three chances) Upto 30 years -9 feet From 31 – 40 years -8 feet From 41 & above - 7 feet c.
