NOTIFICATION
Delhi, the 7th March, 2025
No. F. 8 (1)/EEREM/2024-25/925-934.—In exercise of the power conferred by the section 18 of the Energy
Conservation Act 2001 (52 of 2001), the Lt. Governor of the NCT of Delhi is pleased to issue the following directions
for the efficient use of energy and its conservation in NCT of Delhi namely :-
Mandatory use of Energy Efficient Brushless DC (BLDC) fans, 5 star or above Air conditioners and other star
rated energy efficient appliances in Government Buildings/Government aided institutions/ Boards/Corporations.
(1) The energy efficient BLDC fans, 5 star or above Air conditioners and other star rated energy efficient
appliances shall be installed in all New Buildings/ Institutions constructed in Government Sector/
Government Aided Sector/ Board and Corporation/ Autonomous Bodies with immediate effect from date of
issue of this notification.
(2) It will be mandatory that in existing buildings, the defective induction motor fans and Air conditioners, when
replaced, would be replaced by energy efficient BLDC fans, 5 star or above Air conditioners and other star
rated energy efficient appliances only.
(3) Consumers/User departments may explore use of other star rated Energy Efficient appliances with due
diligence of cost benefit analysis.
