The Ministry of Railway, specifically the North Eastern Railway (Construction Organization), issued Notification S.O. 3973(E) on July 20, 2026, from Gorakhpur. This notification, exercising powers under clause (1) of Section 20A of the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) and the Railway Amendment Act 2008 (11 of 2008), declares the Central Government's intention to acquire land for public purpose. The land is situated in District-Gonda of Uttar Pradesh and is required for the "Katra & Tikri Stations (15.35 Km.) Doubling Project Special Railway Project" of the North Eastern Railway. The annexed Schedule details land parcels across three villages in Tehsil Tarabganj, District-Gonda, Uttar Pradesh: Kanakpur Musthakam (3.326 hectares proposed for acquisition out of a total 11.974 hectares), Fatehpur (0.582 hectares proposed out of 1.938 hectares), and Katra Bhogchand (0.850 hectares proposed out of 2.326 hectares). The grand total land proposed for acquisition is 4.758 hectares. NOTIFICATION
Gorakhpur, the 20th July, 2026

S.O. 3973(E). In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Section 20A of the Railway Act,
1989 (24 of 1989) & Railway Amendment Act 2008 (11 of 2008) (Hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the
Central Government, after being satisfied that for the public purpose, the land, situated at District-Gonda of the state
of Uttar Pradesh, the brief description of which has given in the Schedule annexed hereto, is required for the
execution of the special railway project, namely Katra & Tikri Stations (15.35 Km.) Doubling Project Special
Railway Project of North Eastern Railway, hereby declares its intention to acquire such land.

Any person interested in the said land may, within thirty days from the date of publication of this
notification in the Official Gazette, raise objection to the acquisition and use of such land for the aforesaid purpose
under Section 20D subsection (1) of the said Act.

Every such objection shall be made to the Competent Authority/Special Land Acquisition Officer
District-Gonda Uttar Pradesh in writing and shall set out the grounds there of, and the competent authority shall give
the objector an opportunity of being heard, either in person or by legal practitioner and may after hearing all such
objections and after making such further enquiry, if any, as the competent authority thinks necessary, by order,
either allow or disallow the objections.

Any order by the Competent Authority under subsection (2) of Section 20D of the said Act shall be final
u/s 20D sub-section (3).

The land plans and other details of the land covered under this notification are available, and can be
inspected by the interested person at the aforesaid office of the Competent Authority.
