                Detailed Summary
            

            
This notification, S.O. 2399(E), issued by the Ministry of Railways (South Central Railway) on May 6, 2026, declares the acquisition of lands specified in the annexed schedule for the "Doubling between Tirupati-Pakala-Katpadi (104 Km.)" Special Railway Project in Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. This declaration follows the Central Government's initial intention to acquire land, published via notification S.O. 5891(E) dated December 2, 2025 (published in the Gazette on December 18, 2025), under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989). The substance of the initial notification was published in daily newspapers, including "The Hans India (English)", on December 26, 2025, by K. Suryanarayana, Chief Engineer-III, Construction Organization Secunderabad. Objections filed within the statutory time limit were examined, inquiries conducted by issuing notices under section 20D of the said Act, and subsequently disposed of and settled by the Competent Authority. Upon receipt of the Competent Authority's report, and in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the Railway Act, 1989, the Central Government declares the acquisition. Furthermore, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the Act, the Central Government declares that upon publication of this notification, the specified lands, totaling 6.1175 Acs, shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances. NOTIFICATION
Secunderabad, the 6th May, 2026
S.O. 2399(E). - Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), number, S.O 5891(E) dated the 02nd December 2025 published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, section 3 Sub-section(ii), dated the 18th December 2025 (here in after referred to as the said notification) and issued under sub-section(1) of section 20(A) of the Railway Act, 1989(24 of 1989), the Central Government declares its intention to acquire the land specified in the schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management and operation of Special Railway Project, namely “Doubling between Tirupati-Pakala-Katpadi (104 Km.)", in Tirupati district in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
And whereas, the substance of the said notification was published in daily newspapers namely "Sakshi, Andhrajyothi(Telugu) and The Hans India(English)" on 26th December 2025 by K.Suryanaryana, Chief Engineer-III, Construction Organization Secunderabad under sub section (4) of section 20A of the said Act;
And whereas objections have been filed within the statutory time limit. The objections were examined and enquires were conductedby issuing notices under section 20(D) of the said Act.The objections were disposed and settled by Competent Authority.
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report to the Central Government;
Now therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in the schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;
And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government here by declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the schedule annexed here to shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances
