NOTIFICATION
Jaipur, the 27th September, 2024
S.O. 4321(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways
(North Western Railway, Construction organization), Notification number S.O. 2380 (E) dated 20th June, 2024
published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section-3, Sub section (ii) (herein after referred to as the said
notification) under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008) (hereinafter
referred to as the said Act). The Central Government declared its intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule
annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution, maintenance, management and operation of Special
Railway Project, namely, “Bari Sadri – Nimach new Broad gauge line project” in District Chittorgarh in the State of
Rajasthan.
And, whereas, the substance of the said notification was published in the daily local newspapers "Rajasthan
Patrika" and "Dainik Bhasker" dated 28th June, 2024 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act;
And whereas, no objections has been received by the competent authority.
And, whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government;
Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority, and in exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declare that the land
specified in the schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;
And, further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, The Central Government herby
declares that on publication of the notification in the official Gazette, the land specified in the schedule annexed hereto
shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.

In the phenomenon of total internal reflection, total reflection of light occurs.
Let's understand the two types of reflection:
1. **Partial Reflection:** This is the most common type of reflection we observe. When light strikes the boundary between two different media (e.g., air and water), some of the light is reflected back into the original medium, and some of the light is transmitted into the second medium (refraction). The reflected light is what we call partial reflection.
2. **Total Internal Reflection (TIR):** This is a special type of reflection that occurs when light travels from a denser medium to a rarer medium and strikes the boundary at an angle greater than a critical angle. In this case, *all* of the incident light is reflected back into the denser medium. There is no transmission of light into the rarer medium. Hence, it is called "total" reflection.
The key difference highlighted by the term "total reflection" in total internal reflection is that **100% of the incident light is reflected back into the original (denser) medium.** In contrast, with ordinary (partial) reflection, only a fraction of the light is reflected, with the remainder being transmitted (refracted) or absorbed.
So, when we say "total reflection of light occurs" in the context of total internal reflection, it specifically means that there is **no light transmitted** across the boundary; all the light is reflected.
