The Ministry of Railways (West Central Railway (Construction Organisation)) issued Notification S.O. 4630(E) on August 17, 2026, published in the Gazette on August 21, 2026. In exercise of powers conferred by clause 7(A) of Section 2 of the Railways (Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008), the Central Government has authorized 27 officers, primarily Sub divisional Officers (Revenue) and one Sub divisional Magistrate, to act as Competent Authorities. These authorities are designated for the Special Railway Project involving the construction of the "Itarsi – Manikpur 3rd Railway Line Project" which spans 518.532 Km. This project falls under the Jabalpur Division of West Central Railway and covers areas in the States of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The authorized officers are responsible for areas within specific Tehsils and Districts including Itarsi, Makhan Nagar (Narmadapuram, M.P.), Sohagpur, Pipariya, Bankhedi, Gadarwara, Saikheda, Kareli (Narsinghpur, M.P.), Narsinghpur, Gotegaon, Shahpura, Gorakhpur, Patan (Jabalpur, M.P.), Panagar, Sihora, Ponda, Sleemnabad, Katni (Katni, M.P.), Katni Nagar, Maihar (Maihar, M.P.), Unchehara, Nagod (Satna, M.P.), Raghurajnagar, Kothi, Birsinghpur, Majhgawan, and Manikpur (Chitrakoot, U.P.). NOTIFICATION
Jabalpur, the 17th August, 2026

S.O. 4630(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by the clause 7(A) of Section 2 of the Railways
(Amendment) Act, 2008 (11 of 2008), the Central Government hereby authorizes the officer mentioned in
column (2) of the table below as the Competent Authority to perform the function of such authority under
the said Act in respect of area of the Special Railway Project (Construction of “Itarsi – Manikpur 3rd
Railway Line Project (518.532 Km)” under Jabalpur Division of West Central Railway) in column (4) of
the table in the State of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh with effect from the date of publication of
this notification in the Gazette.
