The Ministry of Railways (Central Railway) issued Notification S.O. 4611(E) on 19th August, 2026, declaring the acquisition of lands for the "Babupeth-Sasti New Rail Line (13.114 Km)" Special Railway Project in the district of Chandrapur, Maharashtra. This declaration is made by the Central Government under sub-section (1) of section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989). This notification follows an earlier intention to acquire land, which was declared by notification S.O 3105 (E) dated 09th July 2025, published on 11th July 2025, under sub-section (1) of section 20A of the said Act. The substance of the previous notification was published in "Chandrapur Samachar" and "Dainik Chandradhun" newspapers on 19th July 2025 under sub-section (4) of section 20A. Objections received were considered by the competent authority, and a report was submitted to the Central Government under sub-section 20E. Upon publication of this notification, the lands specified in the annexed schedule, totaling 38.39 Hectares, comprising 14.13 Ha in Kadholi Buj, 7.16 Ha in Manoli Buj, and 17.10 Ha in Govari villages of Taluka-Rajura, will vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances. NOTIFICATION
Mumbai, the 19th August, 2026
Under clause 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989)
S.O. 4611(E).— Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Railways(Railway
Board), number S.O 3105 (E) dated 09th July 2025 published in Gazette of India, Extraordinary, PartII, section 3,
Sub-section (ii) dated the 11th July 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the said notification ) and issued under sub-section
(1) of section 20A of the Railway Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government
declares its intention to acquire the land specified in the schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of
execution, maintenance, management and operation of Special Railway Project, namely "Babupeth-Sasti New Rail
Line (13.114 Km)" in the district of Chandrapur in the state of Maharashtra.
And whereas, the substance of the said notification was published in for Sub-Divisional Officer, Rajura daily
newspapers namely “Chandrapur Samachar” and “Dainik Chandradhun” Dated 19th July 2025 under sub section
(4) of section 20A of the said Act.
And whereas, objections were received and the same have been considered by the competent authority
accordingly orders have been passed.
And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has submitted its report
to the Central Government.
Now therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers conferred
by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said act, the Central Government hereby declares that the lands specified in
the schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose.
And Further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette; the land specified in the schedule annexed hereto
shall vest absolutely in the Central Government Free from all encumbrances.
