NOTIFICATION
Mumbai, the 19th December , 2023
S.O. 5381(E).—Whereas by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways (Railway
Board) (Published in the Gazette of India, under notification No. 5944(E) of dated 20.12.2022 Extra Ordinary part II
Section -3 Sub -section (II)) (here in a fter referred to as the said notification) under subsection(I) of section 20A of the
Railway Act 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) the Central Government declared its intention
to be acquired the land specified in the Schedule ann exed to the said notification for execution, maintenance,
management and operation of the Special Railway Project, namely, Petlad -Bhadran Gauge Convertion Project in
District Anand in the State of Gujarat ;
And, whereas, the substance of the said notific ation was published in daily local newspaper “Gujarat
Samachar” dated 10th February 2023. “The Indian Express” dated 10th February 2023 under subsection (4) of sec tion
20A of the said Act; and whereas, no objection has been received by the competent authority ;
And, whereas, in pursuance of sub -section (I) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its re port of the Central Government;
Now, therefore, upon receipt of the said report of the competent authority, and in exercise of the powers
conferred by sub -section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the schedule annexed here to shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose;
And, further, in pursuance of sub -section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central government here by
declares that on publication of this notification in the official Gazette the land specified in th e schedule annexed hereto
shall vest absolutely in the Central Governme nt free from all encumbrances.
