Notification S.O. 4377(E) dated 9 October 2024, issued by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) under sub-section (1) of Section 20E of the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989), declares that land specified in the Schedule, covering plots in Sanathal village, Sanand taluka, Ahmedabad district, Gujarat, shall be acquired and, on publication, shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances, for the Special Railway Project of five new broad-gauge line intersections between the Geratpur-Sanand and Botad-Ahmedabad sections (16.51 km); it follows the original notification of intention S.O. 4443(E) dated 12 October 2023 issued under Section 20A(1), whose substance was published in Times of India (English), Divya Bhaskar (Gujarati) and Young Leader (Hindi) on 19 October 2023 under Section 20A(4), after which 88 objections were received under the Act, considered and disallowed by the competent authority, which then submitted its report under Section 20E(1).

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 9th October, 2024

S.O. 4377(E). Whereas, by the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Railways
(Railway Board), number S.O. 4443(E), dated the 12th October, 2023 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,
Part II, Section 3, Sub – section (ii), dated the 12th October, 2023 and issued under sub-section (1) of section 20A of
the Railways Act, 1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the Central Government declared its
intention to acquire the land specified in the Schedule annexed to the said notification for the purpose of execution of
the Special Railway Project, namely, New Brodgauge line intersections 5 (NOS) between Geratpur-Sanand and
Botad-Ahmedabad Project (16.51 KM) in District Ahmedabad in the State of Gujarat.

And, whereas, the substance of the said notification has been published in the daily local newspapers,
namely, Times of India (English), dated the 19st October, 2023, Divy Bhaskar (Gujarati) dated the 19st October, 2023
and Young leader (Hindi) dated the 19st October, 2023 under sub-section (4) of section 20A of the said Act;

And, whereas, 88 (Eighty Eight) numbers of objection have been received and the same have been
considered and disallowed by the competent authority;

And whereas, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the competent authority has
submitted its report to the Central Government.

Now, therefore, upon receipt of the report of the Competent Authority and in exercise of the powers
conferred by sub-section (1) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby declares that the land
specified in the Schedule annexed hereto shall be acquired for the aforesaid purpose.

And further, in pursuance of sub-section (2) of section 20E of the said Act, the Central Government hereby
declares that on publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, the land specified in the Schedule annexed
hereto shall vest absolutely in the Central Government free from all encumbrances.
