NOTIFICATION
Bengaluru, the 26th June, 2026
S.O. 3469(E). In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 20A of the Railways Act,
1989 (24 of 1989) (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), the Central Government, being satisfied that the land
specified in the Schedule appended hereto is required for a public purpose, namely, Construction of Vande Bharat
Sleeper Trains Maintenance Depot at Thanisandra, Bengaluru, Karnataka, together with maintenance facilities, stabling
lines, workshop infrastructure, utility services, approach roads, service roads and other allied railway purposes, hereby
declares its intention to acquire such land.
Any person interested in the said land may, within thirty days from the date of publication of this notification
in the Official Gazette, object to the acquisition and use of such land for the aforesaid purpose under sub-section (1) of
Section 20D of the said Act.
Every such objection shall be made in writing to the Competent Authority for Land Acquisition (CALA),
namely the Special Land Acquisition Officer, (SLAO), Bengaluru Urban, Vishveshwaraih Tower, 6th Floor, Bangalore
setting out the grounds thereof. The Competent Authority shall give the objector an opportunity of being heard either in
person or through a legal practitioner and may, after hearing all such objections and making such further inquiry as
deemed necessary, by order, either allow or disallow the objections.
Any order made by the Competent Authority under sub-section (2) of Section 20D of the said Act shall be
final.
The land plans and other particulars relating to the land covered under this notification are available for
inspection by interested persons at the office of the Competent Authority for Land Acquisition (CALA), Special Land
Acquisition Officer, (SLAO), Bengaluru Urban, Vishveshwaraih Tower, 6th Floor, Bangalore
