NOTIFICATION
Bengaluru, the 16th January, 2026
Notification as per Section 20(a) of the Railway Land Acquisition Act, 1989 (24 of 89):
S.O. 244(E).— The Government considers that the acquisition of the lands shown in the following schedule in the
villages of Amrithapur, Kashipur, Kannenahalli and Hanumanakatte in the villages of Amrithapur, Kashipur,
Kannenahalli and Kasaba Hobli in Holalkere Taluk, Chitradurga District and Chitradurga Taluka Hireguntenuru
Hobli Rottihalli, Kurubarhalli, Haliyuru and Kasaba Hobli Maanangi Village for public purpose (for Chikkajajur-Bellary
Railway Doubling Project) is necessary. This notification is issued to inform that the land acquisition process for this
project is proposed to be carried out under Section-20A of the Railway Land Acquisition Act, 1989 as amended and
amended in 2008.
In this regard, it is hereby notified to all the tenants mentioned in the schedule that pursuant to the order issued by the
Under Secretary to the Government-2 IDD Bangalore vide letter No.: M.A.E. 248 R.R.H. 2025 dated:09-09-2025, the
Deputy Commissioner Chitradurga District vide L.A.Q/CR/46/2025-26 dated:17-06-2025 to exercise his powers as the
competent Authority and Land Acquisition Officer,
It is hereby notified that no one should obstruct the engineers, surveyors or other persons appointed by the
Central Government and the State Government in carrying out the land acquisition work under this notification. It is
hereby notified that from the date of publication of this notification, the lands to be acquired under Section 20A of the
Railway Land Acquisition Act, 1999 and the Amendment Act, 2008, shall not be sold, mortgaged, enjoyed, converted or
otherwise developed under any contract. It is hereby notified that if any such action or other development work is
undertaken, it shall not be taken into account while formulating the award and the land shall be acquired as per law.
Under Section 20A of the Railway Land Acquisition Act, 1989 and the Amendment Act, 2008, interested parties may
submit their objections in person or through a person authorized in writing by you to deal with this matter, to the
competent Authorities/Special Land Acquisition Officer, Chikkajajur-Bellary Railway Doubling Project, Chitradurga,
during office hours, within 30 days from the date of publication of this notification.
The maps of the land to be acquired in the said case have been kept for inspection by the competent Authorities/Special
Land Acquisition Officers at the Chikkajajur-Bellary Railway Doubling Project Office, Behind the Horticulture
Department, V.P. Extension, Chitradurga.
The Central Government has proposed to acquire land for public purpose, namely, for the construction of Chikkajalur
Bellary Doubling Project under Section 20(A) of the Railway Land Acquisition Act, 1989 (24 of 89), and the Special
Land Acquisition Officers appointed under the official reminder of the Deputy Commissioner, Chitradurga District, vide
No. L.A.Q.C.R/46/2025-26 dated 17.09.2025, are hereby empowered to issue the said notification under the powers
conferred under Section 20(A) of the Railway Land Acquisition Act, 1909 (24 of 09).
This notification is in pursuance of Section 20(a) of the Railway Land Acquisition Act, 1989 (24 of 89) in the course of
land acquisition proceedings under the Central Act, the Government has authorized the Special Land Acquisition Officer,
Tumkur-Chitradurga-Davanagere New Direct Railway Line Project, Chitradurga and his staff and workers to exercise
the powers conferred by Section 12.
In case the interested persons sell, lease, mortgage, transfer or otherwise enter into agreements for the disposal of the
land subject to the notification or incur any development expenditure after the publication of this notification without
obtaining the approval of the District Collector, Chitradurga District, the same shall be disregarded while determining
the compensation for the lands finally acquired.

L.R.No. R.D. 05. A.Q.D. 2025-26 Date:23-07-2025 Order has been issued to initiate the land acquisition process for the
Chikkajajur-Bellary Doubling Railway Project.
If any person interested in the lands announced in this notification wishes to raise objections under Section 20(D) of the
Railway Land Acquisition Act within 30 days of the publication of the notification, such notice shall be given to the
Special Land Acquisition Officer, Chitradurga, for the Chikkajajur-Bellary Doubling Project.
This notification is issued under Section 20(A) of the Railway Land Acquisition Act, 1989 (24 of 89). The map of the
lands acquired has been placed for inspection at the office of the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Chikkajajur-Bellary
Railway Doubling Project, Chitradurga.
