NOTIFICATION
Dhanbad, the 1st July, 2026
G.S.R. 572(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred on me under sub-rule (2) of rule 131 of the
Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Central) Rules, 2026, I, Ujjwal Tah, Chief Inspector-cum-
Facilitator of Mines, also designated as the Director General of Mines Safety, hereby, specify the apparatus and
equipment to be provided and maintained at the entrance of a belowground mine, where no rescue room is located, as
follows:
Scope: | These standards specify the apparatus and equipment to be provided and maintained at the entrance
| of a belowground mine, where no rescue room is located as required under Rule 131(2) of the
| Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Central) Rules, 2026.
Applicability: | These standards shall be applicable to all below ground mine, where no rescue room is located close
| to mine entrance.
Compliance Requirement:
Apparatus and equipment to be provided and maintained at the surface of mine where no rescue room is
located close to mine entrance
1.0 BREATHING APPARATUS-Nos
1.1 Compressed air breathing apparatus- 02 (Two)
1.2 Spare Cylinders -02 (Two)
1.3 Self Contained Self Rescuer- 03 (Three)
2.0 Flame safety lamp with maintenance tool kit-1 (One)
