Secy. S.O. 3054(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (2) and (4) of section 17 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957) and after consultation with the State Government of Karnataka, the Central Government hereby declares that:- (i) the Central Government proposes to undertake prospecting and mining operations in respect of mineral Gold and any other minerals produced during the course of such prospecting or mining operations in the State of Karnataka as per the boundaries specified in the Schedule hereto annexed; and (ii) no mineral concession shall be granted in respect of any land specified in the said Schedule. 2. This notification shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
