NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 25th March, 2026
S.O. 1641(E).—Whereas, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited had proposed
under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set
up a Special Economic Zone for electronic hardware and related support services including trading and logistics
operations at State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Industrial Growth Centre, Sriperumbudur Taluk,
Kancheepuram District, in the State of Tamil Nadu;
And, whereas, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of
the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006, notified/denotification the following areas at
above Special Economic Zone as details given below in the table: -

AND, WHEREAS, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has now proposed
for de-notification of 18.753 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone;
AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter no.
469/MIB.1/2025-2 dated 13th October, 2025 and letter no. 12316/MIE.2/2018-2-1 dated 12.12.2018. Further, such de-
notified land parcel would be utilized towards creation of infrastructure which would sub-serve the objective of the
SEZ as originally envisaged;
AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the
proposal for de-notification of an area of 18.753 hectares of the Special Economic Zone;
NOW, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of
section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4
of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006, the
Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 18.753 hectares, thereby making resultant area of the Special
Economic Zone as 55.238 hectares. The Survey numbers and the area for the de-notification are given below in the
table, namely: -
