Issued by the Ministry of Defence via notification S.R.O. 2(E) dated 31st January 2024, in pursuance of sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Cantonments Act, 2006 (41 of 2006), read with notification S.R.O. 01(E) dated 30th January 2024 (which varied certain Cantonment Boards), the Central Government notifies the constitution of the listed Cantonment Boards with effect from 11th February 2024. Each Board is constituted of three members under clauses (a), (b) and (c) of sub-section (2) of section 13 of the Act: the Officer Commanding the Station, the Chief Executive Officer, and a third member (elected/nominated, or shown as 'Vacant' where unfilled). Named third members are listed for cantonments including Ahmedabad (Shri Vijay O. Yadav), Ahmednagar (Shri Vasant Chandmal Rathod), Ajmer (Shri Mohandas Vijay), Allahabad (Shri Vinod Kumar Valmiki), Amritsar (Smt. Alka Sharma), Aurangabad (Shri Prashant Suresh Targe), Ayodhya (Shri Ram Milan Nishad), Bareilly (Dr. Vaibhav Jaiswal), Dehradun (Shri Vinod Panwar), Ferozepur (Shri Yogesh Kumar Gupta), and Jalandhar (Shri Puneet Bharti Shukla), among others, while cantonments including Agra, Barrackpore, Cannanore, Delhi, and Jabalpur are shown with the third-member position vacant.
