In exercise of powers conferred by Sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, the Central Government has amended the import policy for specific ITC (HS) codes under Chapter 71 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule – I (Import Policy). Specifically, the import policy for ITC (HS) codes 71131141 ("Other Jewellery: ----Unstudded") and 71131149 ("Other Jewellery: ----Other"), which fall under 'Articles of jewellery and parts thereof, of precious metal or of metal clad with precious metal,' has been changed from "Free" to "Restricted." This amendment is effective immediately and will remain in force till March 31, 2026, and was issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.
