Notification for amendment in the Quality Control Orders in Footwear and Leather sector

5543 GI/202 4 (1) EXTRAORDINARY PART II —Section 3 —Sub-section ( ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 3371 ] NEW DELHI, FRIDAY , AUGUST 30, 2024 /BHADRA 8, 194 6 CG-DL-E-30082024-256785 MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department For Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade ) ORDER New Delhi, the 30th August, 2024 S.O. 3700 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub -section (1) and (2) of section 16 read with sub- section (3) of section 25 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016), the Central Government, after consulting the Bureau of Indian standards, is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient so to do in the public interest, hereby makes the following Order to amend the Footwear Made from Leather and other Materials(Quality Control) Order, 2024, namely: - 1. (1) This Order may be called the Footwear made from Leather and other Materials (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024. (2) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the official Gazette. 2. In the Footwear made from Leather and other Materials (Quality Control) Order, 2024, in paragraph 2, for the third proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted namely: “Provided also that the stock of footwear without Bureau of Indian Standards Mark, manufactured or imported prior to the commencement of this Order, shall be permitted to be sold or displayed or offered to be sold for a period upto the 31stJuly, 2026”.
