NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 30th July, 2024
S.O. 3046(E).-Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that public interest so requires that the services
engaged in the following industrial undertakings under the Ministry of Finance, namely, the
(a) India Government Mints, Kolkata, Noida, Mumbai and Hyderabad;
(b) India Security Press, Nashik;
(c) Security Printing Press, Hyderabad;
(d) Security Paper Mill, Hoshangabad;
(e) Services in the Bank Note Press, Dewas; and
(f) Currency Note Press, Nashik Road,
which are respectively covered under items 11, 12 [both (b) and (c)], 21, 22 and 25 of the First Schedule to the
Industrial Disputes Act, 1947(14 of 1947), to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act declared the
said Industrial undertaking under sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of section 2 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947;
And whereas the Central Government has lastly declared the said industrial undertaking to be public utility
service for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months with effect from the 30th January, 2024, vide
notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and Employment number S.O. 362(E), dated the 29th
January, 2024;
And whereas the proviso to said sub-clause (vi) provides that if the Central Government is of the opinion that
public interest requires the extension of the declaration of public utility service, it may be extended for a not exceeding
six months;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-clause(vi) of clause (n) of section 2
of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government, being of the opinion that in the public
interest requires extension hereby extends the period specified in the notification number S.O. 362 (E), dated the 29th
January, 2024 for a further period of six months from the 30th July, 2024 during which the services engaged in the said
industrial undertakings to be a public utility service for the purposes of the said Act,
