NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 25th July, 2024
S.O. 3036(E).—Whereas, the Central Government is of the opinion that monument namely Nicholson Statue
and its platform, and the surrounding gardens, paths and enclosure wall, outside the Kashmiri gate, Delhi, declared
protected vide notification No. 9058-Education. dated 11th December 1913, in the Gazette of India, Calcutta, dated
20th December 1913, have ceased to be of national importance.
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 35 of the Ancient Monuments and
Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1958 (24 of 1958), the Central Government hereby gives notice of its intention
to declare that the said monument has ceased to be of national importance for the purposes of said Act.
Any person interested in the said monument may object to such declaration within a period of two months
from the date of issue of this notification, to the Director General, Archaeological Survey of India, 24 Tilak Marg,
New Delhi-110001 ([email protected]);
The objections, if any, received from any person with respect to this notification within the period so
specified shall be taken into consideration by the Central Government.
