The Ministry of Labour and Employment, through Notification S.O. 4920(E) dated 29th October, 2025, issued by the Central Government, has authorized Regional Provident Fund Commissioners to exercise the powers conferred upon the Central Provident Fund Commissioner under section 14AC of the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 (19 of 1952). This authorization extends to the respective Regional Provident Fund Commissioners within the jurisdiction of their concerned Zone/Region/District Office where an establishment is covered. This notification supersedes the previous notification No. S.O. 549 (E), dated 1st November, 1973. The powers are exercisable across all regions specified in the Schedule, which includes the National Capital Territory of Delhi, various States such as Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Telangana, and Union Territories like Puducherry (Yanam and Mahe areas), Daman and Diu, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Lakshadweep, Chandigarh, Andaman and Nicobar Island, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. The notification specifies that powers exercised by Regional Provident Fund Commissioners in erstwhile regions or newly created States/Regions/District Offices after 2nd June, 2014, shall be deemed as exercised under this new notification. This order comes into force on its date of publication in the Official Gazette.

L.-33004/99 The Gazette of India CG-DL-E-29102025-267248 EXTRAORDINARY PART II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) PUBLISHED BY AUTHORITY No. 4769] NEW DELHI, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2025/ KARTIKA 7,1947 MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 29th October, 2025 S.O. 4920(E). — In exercise of the powers conferred by section 14AC of the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952 (19 of 1952) and in supersession of notification No. S.O. 549 (E), dated the 1st November, 1973, the Central Government hereby authorises that the powers vested in the Central Provident Fund Commissioner under the provisions of the above said section shall also be exercisable within each of the regions specified in the Schedule by the respective Regional Provident Fund Commissioners in whose jurisdiction of concerned Zone/Region/District Office, the establishment is covered. This notification shall come into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette. SCHEDULE 1. The National Capital Territory of Delhi. 2. In the case of the States/Regions/District Offices created after 2nd June, 2014, the powers exercised by the Regional Provident Fund Commissioners of the erstwhile Regions as per the said notification or by the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner of the Zone/Regions/District Offices after 2nd June, 2014 shall be deemed as powers exercised under this notification.
